I am writing with further news regarding the East Sussex Highways works in the Fairlight area and its effect on bus services.
I understand that the re-surfacing work that commenced last Monday has been proceeding well despite the wet weather. You will recall that this was generally working westwards. We understand that the work is due to clear the Lower Coastguard Lane junction imminently, as scheduled, with work continuing in Fairlight Road west of there from next Monday.
Accordingly, we have told Hams Travel to resume extending the relevant journeys on the 901 shuttle bus timetable to/from Lower Coastguard Lane from Monday 12 October. The section of route between there and Fairlight Cove had to be withdrawn from 22 September to permit ‘haunching’ works which were then followed by the re-surfacing activities over the last week. The afternoon journey on service 347 that serves Fairlight will also be extended again to Lower Coastguard Lane from the same date.
