Crime Prevention Tips

Surrey and Sussex Neighbourhood Watch and Sussex Police have issued the following advice regarding crime prevention at this time of year.

‘It is difficult to believe after our recent weather that spring officially starts on the 20th March!!.
Spring is when most people get out in their gardens.
Here are some crime prevention tips to consider:

Keep garages and sheds locked when using tools and ensure you put them away after use.
Make sure garage doors are closed and secure.
Make sure fences around your home are secure and not broken.
Planting defensive hedging and plants may help deter criminals.
If you are planning a holiday, ask neighbours to watch over your home and to ensure that post is pushed completely through the letterbox.
