Pett WI News from Belinda Wood, President
It was great to welcome members back to the Hall for our first meeting of the year in January. Members of the committee presented the National Federation of WI’s resolutions for the year and the outcome was our support for the Equality in Law for the Menopause a subject that has been very newsworthy recently.
This newsletter went to press just before father and daughter team Paul Stapley and Laura Mitchell attempt their Pett Half Marathon for a second year raising funds for our Rye Foodbank appeal. We are so grateful to them for their kindness in organising this. To give you a better idea of the success of our foodbank appeal since we started in July 2020, we’ve now delivered some 10,500 products to RFB (plus hundreds of items to Dom’s and Seaview as well) and received over £7000 for RFB in financial donations. Thank you to everyone for such great support.
We are excited to announce our first Spring Fair taking place on Saturday 2 April raising funds for the Conquest Hospital’s Macdonald Ward Courtyard Makeover Appeal.
Hilary Dymott and her fundraising team have been very busy organising this to ensure it is a a first class event; I very much forward to seeing you there!
