Pett Village Hall – Update
A couple of issues to report relating to Pett Village Hall, which apart from the Harold Road Surgery prescription service on Friday morning (9-10) and Monday afternoon (2-2.30), is closed because of the coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
First, the AGM of the Pett Village Hall Committee which was scheduled to take place on 4 May has been postponed until the Hall is open again. The next meeting of the Committee will also be the AGM.
Secondly, on the advice of Action in Rural Sussex (AIRS) and with the help of Rother Councillor Andrew Mier, the Committee applied to Rother District Council for a Small Business Grant for Pett Village Hall, related to the coronavirus pandemic restrictions. I am very pleased to say that Rother Council has approved a grant of £10,000 for the Hall. This will help secure the financial future of the Hall. At the moment the cost of running the Hall is over £1,000 per month with very little income.
The Committee look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Hall as soon as we are allowed to.
Kind regards
Tim Rothwell, Chair, Pett Village Hall Management Committee
