Pett Community Library News

Please note – the next Library and Coffee Morning is 8th January as the first Wednesday in January is a bank holiday.
Many thanks to Jenny, second from the left in this photo, for conducting a busy and successful one-off wreath-making session at the December Coffee Morning. As you can see, the results were stunning.
Crochet Corner is popular and was also very busy. But there is always room for more, so please come along and join in. Hooks, yarn and encouragement readily available.
The Community Library also lends out books. You don’t have to buy anything, although it does help to support Pett Village Hall if you purchase a cup of coffee and a slice of delicious home-made cake. The books are supplied to us free of charge from the Community Library Store at East Sussex Library.

Our Book of the Month and reader recommendation is The World is a Bundle of Hay by Roy Alan Preece. This is a personal memoir of growing up and working on a farm in the 1940’s and 50’s in Somerset, a breath of fresh air after the political turmoil we have recently been through. The library copy will be being read in Somerset over Christmas, but will be back in the library and ready to borrow on 8th January 2020 in Pett Village Hall, 10.00 – 12.00.

Community Library Notes Extra!!
It is slightly early to be thinking about this; but when you take down your Christmas decorations on 6th January, or before, put aside your greetings cards – and bring them along to the next Coffee Morning on 8th January. Jenny is once more going to have a craft table and show us how to make beautiful and practical items from our used cards (other materials provided). So do come along with your cards to enjoy good coffee, good company, good ideas and, of course, good books. See you there. #savetheplanet
