Bus Service 101 diversion and shuttle bus during Winchelsea Beach Roadworks for 28th June to 1st July only

The work next week includes a road closure and most service 101 bus journeys will be diverted on the relevant days.

East Sussex Highways responsible for this scheme agreed to access for buses at school times and, because of the hours applying to the closure, buses will be able to run as normal before 8.00am and after 5.00pm.

During the main part of the day on the relevant dates, service 101 will have to run via the A259 between Rye and Hastings. The County Council has arranged for a shuttle bus to run between Ore, Fairlight, Fairlight Cove and Pett Level during these periods. Passengers can transfer to/from other buses at Ore for travel to/from Hastings, the Conquest Hospital and Rye. The shuttle service will be operated by Rambler Coaches. It will not be possible for buses to serve Winchelsea Beach during the main part of the day.

A temporary timetable for buses along the corridor normally served by the 101 is attached and applies Monday 28 June – Thursday 1 July. This includes the shuttle bus journeys.

Relevant information was sent to colleagues at Rye College and Guestling Bradshaw CEP School earlier this week.
